Are you a caring and adaptable Teaching Assistant who can help pupils stay focused, confident and engaged in their learning?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) to work with a school in Doncaster. This is a great opportunity for someone who can provide practical classroom support, build positive relationships with pupils and work closely with teachers to help students make progress.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support individuals and small groups during classroom activities.
- Help pupils understand instructions and complete learning tasks.
- Provide additional support to students who require help with their learning.
- Encourage positive behaviour and effective classroom routines.
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence and engagement.
- Work alongside teachers to support individual learning needs.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and welcoming classroom environment.
Requirements for the Teaching Assistant role:
- Previous experience working with children or young people as a Teaching Assistant or similar position is desirable.
- Experience in education, childcare, tutoring or a similar setting would be advantageous.
- Patient, approachable and supportive manner.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Reliable, organised and committed to supporting children's learning.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
