Salary Scale: £34,068 to £52,834 per annum (MPS/UPS)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently hiring a Physical Education Teacher to work in a secondary school in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate PE specialist to join a supportive department, deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons, and encourage pupils to participate positively in sport and physical activity.
Physical Education Teacher Role:
The successful Physical Education Teacher will deliver a broad and engaging PE curriculum, helping pupils develop their physical skills, tactical understanding, fitness and knowledge of healthy lifestyles. You will create purposeful lessons that challenge learners appropriately while promoting teamwork, discipline, confidence and enjoyment of physical activity.
Physical Education Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging practical and classroom-based PE lessons across the appropriate secondary curriculum.
- Develop pupils’ physical skills, sporting knowledge, fitness and understanding of healthy lifestyles.
- Differentiate activities to ensure pupils of varying abilities can participate and make progress.
- Establish high expectations for behaviour, effort, teamwork and participation during lessons.
- Assess pupils’ performance and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
- Contribute positively to the wider PE provision, including extracurricular activities, clubs or sporting events where required.
Physical Education Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge across Physical Education and a range of sporting activities.
- Previous experience teaching PE within a secondary school setting is desirable.
- Confident classroom and practical lesson management skills, with the ability to motivate and engage pupils.
- A positive, energetic and adaptable approach, with high expectations for pupil progress and behaviour.
- An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years, with any employment gaps explained
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
