Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking confident and dependable Behaviour Support to work within reputed schools in Rotherham. We are looking for individuals who can connect with pupils, respond effectively when behaviour becomes challenging, and provide structured guidance that encourages better engagement with learning.
The Behaviour Support role will involve working directly with pupils who require additional behavioural or emotional guidance, helping them develop self-awareness, improve their responses, and build more constructive relationships within school.
Behaviour Support Responsibilities:
- Identify patterns and circumstances that may contribute to challenging behaviour
- Establish clear boundaries while maintaining respectful relationships with pupils
- Apply agreed intervention strategies during periods of disruption or distress
- Encourage learners to reflect on incidents and consider more constructive responses
- Document behavioural developments and communicate key information to relevant staff
- Liaise with pastoral and teaching teams to ensure consistent approaches across the school day
Behaviour Support Requirements:
- Background in education, youth work, mentoring, care, or a related support environment
- Understanding of positive behaviour management and appropriate de-escalation approaches
- Ability to remain composed and responsive during challenging situations
- Confidence communicating with pupils while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
- Resilient, consistent, and solution-focused approach to behaviour support
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
