Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for committed and understanding SEN Teaching Assistant to join inclusive schools throughout Rotherham. We are seeking individuals who can adapt their approach to different Special Educational Needs, establish positive relationships with pupils, and work closely with teaching staff to make learning more accessible.
As a SEN TA, you will provide individualised assistance to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting their academic development, communication, social skills, and independence within the school environment.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Adapt learning activities to accommodate pupils with different educational needs
- Guide individuals through tasks that require additional explanation or reinforcement
- Conduct focused interventions with pupils individually or in small groups
- Develop communication, social interaction, and independent learning skills
- Observe progress and share relevant information with teachers and SEN staff
- Contribute to individual support strategies and agreed learning plans
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Familiarity with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and inclusive learning approaches
- Experience supporting children with additional needs in education or a related setting
- Ability to adjust support according to individual abilities and circumstances
- Strong interpersonal skills for establishing productive relationships with pupils
- Attentive, flexible, and collaborative approach to supporting learners
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
