Salary: £95 – £115 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work within schools across Middlesbrough. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally while helping them get the most from their education.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and school staff to provide individual and small-group support to pupils. You will help learners stay engaged, develop their confidence, and become more independent in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group learning support
- Assist pupils with their classroom activities and learning tasks
- Support students who may have additional learning needs
- Encourage confidence, independence, and positive engagement
- Help pupils overcome barriers to learning
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Promote a calm, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- A patient, caring, and understanding approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- Reliable, adaptable, and proactive attitude
- Passion for supporting children's learning and development
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
