Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking an enthusiastic Physical Education (PE) Teacher to work with a school in Sheffield. This is an opportunity to deliver engaging practical lessons, promote participation and support students’ physical development through a positive sporting environment.

Your responsibilities as a PE Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons for students of varied abilities.
  • Teach practical activities safely and effectively.
  • Encourage teamwork, discipline and active participation.
  • Help pupils develop physical skills and understanding of healthy lifestyles.
  • Assess progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain clear behaviour and safety expectations during practical sessions.
  • Contribute to wider sporting or extracurricular activities where appropriate.

Requirements for the role:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential for a PE Teacher role.
  • Strong subject knowledge across relevant areas of Physical Education.
  • Previous experience teaching PE in a school setting is desirable.
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to motivate students and encourage participation.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
