GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking a creative and knowledgeable Design and Technology (D&T) Teacher to work with a school in Sheffield. If you are someone who deliver practical learning, develop students' technical abilities and encourage creative problem-solving through engaging D&T lessons, this role as a Design and Technology Teacher is for you!
Your role as a Design and Technology Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging and practical D&T lessons.
- Teach design principles and relevant technical skills.
- Encourage creativity, problem-solving and independent thinking.
- Prepare suitable materials, equipment and learning resources.
- Ensure practical activities are conducted safely.
- Assess students' work and provide constructive feedback.
- Support pupils in developing confidence through practical projects.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential for the Design and Technology Teacher role.
- Strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology.
- Previous experience teaching D&T within a school setting is desirable.
- Confident classroom, behaviour and practical-work management skills.
- Ability to engage students through practical and creative approaches.
- Strong planning, communication and organisational abilities.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
