Are you a caring and adaptable Teaching Assistant who can help pupils feel supported, included and ready to learn?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) to work with a school in Sheffield. This role provides the opportunity to support students with their learning, work alongside teachers and encourage students to develop greater confidence and independence in the classroom.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support individuals and small groups with classroom learning.
- Assist students with instructions, activities and learning resources.
- Help students stay focused and engaged during lessons.
- Encourage positive behaviour and effective classroom routines.
- Provide additional support to pupils who require help with their learning.
- Work closely with teachers to meet individual learning needs.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and positive classroom environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people as a Teaching Assistant or similar position is expected.
- Experience in education, childcare, tutoring or a similar setting would be advantageous.
- Patient, approachable and supportive manner.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Reliable, organised and committed to supporting children's learning.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection is very important to work as a TA.
