Salary: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking a patient and proactive Behaviour Support to work with a school in Sheffield. The role focuses on helping pupils understand their behaviour, manage challenging situations and develop more positive ways of responding to everyday school demands.
Your responsibilities as a Behaviour Support:
- Provide targeted support to pupils experiencing behavioural difficulties.
- Help students recognise triggers and develop suitable coping strategies.
- Encourage positive choices, self-regulation and respectful behaviour.
- Build consistent and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Support students when transitioning back into classroom learning.
- Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to maintain agreed strategies.
- Record relevant observations and communicate concerns appropriately.
Requirements for the Behaviour Support role:
- Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs is desirable for the role as a Behaviour Support.
- Previous experience in education, youth work, pastoral support or a similar setting is beneficial.
- Calm, patient and empathetic approach.
- Confidence responding appropriately to challenging behaviour.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to remain consistent and professional under pressure.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
