Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting motivated and dependable Teaching Assistant (TA) to support amazing schools in Barnsley. We are seeking individuals who can work closely with teaching staff, respond effectively to different learning needs, and create positive interactions that help pupils remain engaged and make progress.
The Teaching Assistant will contribute to everyday classroom learning by providing targeted assistance, reinforcing lesson content, and helping pupils develop their academic, social, and independent learning skills.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Guide pupils through classroom activities when additional explanation is needed
- Facilitate focused learning sessions with individuals and small groups
- Adapt resources to make tasks accessible for pupils with different abilities
- Motivate learners to participate actively and take greater responsibility for their work
- Observe academic progress and communicate useful feedback to teaching staff
- Contribute to positive classroom routines and an inclusive learning environment
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people in education
- Understanding of different learning needs and appropriate classroom support methods
- Confidence working independently with pupils as well as alongside teaching staff
- Ability to communicate instructions clearly and build positive relationships
- Patient, organised, and adaptable approach to supporting learning
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
