Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Primary)

Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2. Your day may include helping children with classwork, supporting small-group activities, encouraging positive behaviour and providing additional assistance where needed. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to pupils' learning and development while gaining valuable experience within a primary school setting.

Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities and learning.

Provide one-to-one and small-group support where appropriate.

Assist pupils with reading, writing, numeracy and other age-appropriate learning activities.

Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and participation.

Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 according to their individual needs.

Help maintain a calm, safe and engaging classroom environment.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery or similar setting is desirable.

A patient, caring and encouraging approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to support children with different learning and behavioural needs.

A genuine interest in helping children achieve their potential.
-
Ability to work effectively alongside teachers and other school staff.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
