Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you passionate about helping pupils with additional needs access learning and develop their confidence? A supportive school in Worksop is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant (SEN) to join its team.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant (SEN), you will provide targeted support to pupils with special educational needs, working closely with teachers and other school staff. You may work one-to-one or with small groups, helping pupils engage with lessons, manage learning challenges and develop greater independence. Your consistent support can make a real difference to a pupil's experience of school.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN.

Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks.

Adapt support to meet individual pupils' learning and communication needs.

Encourage pupils to participate in lessons and develop independence.

Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation where required.

Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and remain engaged.

Build positive, professional relationships with pupils and staff.

Share relevant observations and feedback with teachers and the wider support team.
Requirements:

Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable.

Experience working in a school, care or similar supportive environment is advantageous.

A patient, calm and empathetic approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to respond flexibly to different learning and behavioural needs.

Confidence working collaboratively with teachers and support staff.

A genuine commitment to helping pupils achieve their potential.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
