Your experience in sport or coaching can bring valuable transferable skills to the classroom, including confidence, resilience, structure, communication and behaviour management. Sport is your background, but your main duty will be supporting pupils in their education.

About the School:

This inclusive school is committed to providing a supportive and well-structured learning environment for pupils. Staff work collaboratively to maintain positive behaviour, encourage engagement and ensure pupils receive the support they need to make progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom-based support across Primary or Secondary settings.

  • Support pupils with learning, behaviour and engagement.

  • Assist teachers with day-to-day classroom activities and pupil needs.

  • Provide cover supervision for classes when required.

  • Support pupils with SEN and additional learning needs.

  • Build positive relationships with pupils and encourage participation.

  • Use transferable coaching skills to promote structure, confidence and positive behaviour.

  • Help maintain a calm, safe and focused classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience in sports coaching, fitness or a related field is desirable.

  • An interest in working within a school and supporting pupils.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A confident, patient and resilient approach.

  • Ability to manage behaviour and maintain clear boundaries.

  • Comfortable working with pupils across different ages and abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively alongside teachers and wider school staff.

  • A genuine commitment to supporting children and young people.
