Location: Wakefield (WF15)
Salary: £105–£115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Long-Term/ Day-to-day, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking a patient and dedicated 1:1 Male Teaching Assistant (TA) to work with a school in Wakefield (WF15). This role offers the opportunity to provide focused individual support to a students, helping them access learning, develop confidence and make positive progress throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities as a 1:1 Male Teaching Assistant:
- Provide dedicated one-to-one support tailored to the pupil's individual needs.
- Assist with classroom activities, instructions and learning tasks.
- Encourage the studetns to participate positively in lessons and school routines.
- Help develop confidence, independence and appropriate social skills.
- Support positive behaviour and maintain a calm learning environment.
- Work closely with the class teacher and wider support team.
- Monitor engagement and provide relevant feedback on the pupil's progress.
Requirements for the 1:1 Male Teaching Assistant (TA) role:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Experience in education, childcare, or a similar setting would be beneficial.
- A patient, supportive and consistent approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build a positive and trusting relationship with a pupil.
- Reliable and committed to supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
