Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN?
GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and caring KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Brentwood, providing 1:1 support to a child in Key Stage 1 with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This is a fantastic full-time, long-term opportunity starting immediately, ideal for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, 1:1 Support Assistant or Classroom Assistant who is confident supporting children with additional needs.
About the Role
You will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with SEN, working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team to ensure the child is fully supported and able to access their learning.
Your responsibilities will include:

Providing consistent and nurturing 1:1 SEN support to a KS1 pupil

Supporting the child to access classroom learning and activities
-
Helping develop the pupil's confidence, independence and social skills
-
Supporting communication, engagement and participation
-
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
-
Helping with classroom routines and transitions
-
Adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of the child
-
Providing learning, behavioural and emotional support where required
-
Supporting the pupil with reading, writing, phonics and numeracy activities
-
Building a strong, trusting relationship with the child
-
Working closely with the Class Teacher and SENCO
-
Creating a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment
SEN Experience is Essential
Previous experience working with children with SEN is paramount for this role.

Experience providing 1:1 support within a school, nursery, specialist setting, childcare environment or similar setting would be highly desirable.
