Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: Immediate Start
Are you passionate about helping children learn, grow in confidence and enjoy their time at school? A welcoming primary school in Chesterfield is looking for a caring Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the early years and primary stages.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils with their learning and development throughout the school day. You may provide one-to-one or small-group support, assist with classroom activities and help pupils stay engaged with age-appropriate learning.
You’ll play an important part in creating a calm and encouraging classroom environment, supporting children with their academic, social and emotional development.

Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities and learning.

Provide one-to-one and small-group support where appropriate.

Assist pupils with early learning, literacy, numeracy and other curriculum activities.

Encourage positive behaviour and age-appropriate independence.

Support pupils with their social and emotional development.

Help maintain a calm, safe and engaging classroom environment.

Share relevant observations and feedback with the class teacher.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting is desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, caring and adaptable approach.

Confidence supporting children across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.

Ability to work effectively alongside teachers and other school staff.

A genuine commitment to helping children develop and succeed.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
