Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you confident leading a classroom and looking to build valuable experience within education? A welcoming secondary school in Worksop is looking for a dependable Cover Supervisor to support pupils and keep learning on track when teachers are unavailable.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes across a range of subjects, following pre-prepared lesson plans and ensuring pupils stay focused on their work. You’ll manage classroom behaviour, provide support where needed and help maintain a positive environment throughout the school day.
The role offers the chance to gain experience across different year groups and subjects while developing your classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared lesson materials.

Maintain a calm and well-managed classroom.

Encourage pupils to remain focused and engaged with their work.

Manage behaviour in line with school policies.

Provide appropriate support to pupils during lessons.

Ensure learning continues smoothly in the absence of the usual teacher.

Share relevant feedback with teaching staff where appropriate.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong communication and classroom management skills.

A calm, confident and adaptable approach.

Ability to follow lesson plans and work independently.

Confidence managing groups of secondary-aged pupils.

A genuine commitment to supporting young people and their education.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
