Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Location: Doncaster

Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Contract Type: Long-term, Full-time

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes across a range of subjects, delivering pre-prepared lesson work and maintaining a positive learning environment. You’ll be responsible for managing classroom behaviour, keeping pupils focused and supporting them with their work where appropriate.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes and follow pre-prepared lesson plans and materials.

  • Maintain a calm and well-managed classroom environment.

  • Support pupils to remain focused and engaged with their work.

  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.

  • Provide appropriate support to pupils during lessons.

  • Ensure lessons run smoothly in the absence of the usual teacher.

  • Share relevant feedback with teaching staff where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.

  • A calm, confident and adaptable approach.

  • Ability to follow lesson plans and work independently.

  • Confidence managing groups of secondary-aged pupils.

  • A genuine interest in supporting young people and their education.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
