Job Title: Behaviour Support (Secondary)
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term, Full-time
Start Date: Immediately
Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning? A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is looking for a committed Behaviour Support professional to join their team.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support professional, you will provide classroom-based support to pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. You’ll work alongside subject teachers and pastoral staff to manage behaviour, support lesson engagement and help pupils stay focused on their learning.
The role will involve supporting pupils during lessons and transitions, building positive relationships and helping maintain a calm and structured classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide classroom-based behaviour and learning support to pupils across KS3 and KS4.

Work alongside subject teachers to support positive behaviour and lesson engagement.

Build positive professional relationships with pupils and understand individual needs.

Support pupils during lesson transitions and across different school settings.

Encourage pupils to participate positively in their learning.

Help maintain a calm, safe and structured classroom environment.

Share relevant observations and feedback with teachers and pastoral staff.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience supporting children or young people is desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour management.

Confidence working with secondary-aged pupils.

Ability to work effectively with teachers and pastoral teams.

A genuine commitment to helping young people succeed in education.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
