Job Title: Behaviour Teaching Assistant
Location: Market Weighton, East Riding of Yorkshire
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Salary: £92 - £115 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently recruiting for a resilient, patient, and proactive Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work within a school setting in Market Weighton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can build strong relationships with pupils and provide consistent support to help them overcome barriers to learning.
About the Role
As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils who may experience behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties. You will provide a calm and structured presence, helping pupils regulate their behaviour, engage with learning, and develop the skills needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
Core Responsibilities of the Behaviour Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils experiencing behavioural or emotional difficulties.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence, resilience, and positive social interaction.
- Promote positive behaviour through calm, consistent, and restorative approaches.
- Help pupils engage with classroom activities and overcome barriers to learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and wider pastoral staff to monitor behaviour and support individual progress.
As the Ideal Behaviour Teaching Assistant, You Should Have:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with behavioural, emotional, or additional needs.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviour while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Ability to remain consistent and adaptable when responding to individual pupil needs.
- A genuine passion for helping young people make positive changes and achieve their potential.
To Work with GSL Education, You Must:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Provide an up-to-date CV and references covering the last 2 years.
- Have recent experience working with children or young people.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
