Salary: £460–£600 per week (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Long-Term/ Day-to-day, Full-Time / Part-Time
Can you help students understand their behaviour and find more positive ways to respond to challenges?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking a patient and proactive Behaviour Support to work with a school in Sheffield. This role is suited to someone who can provide consistent guidance, build positive relationships and help pupils develop strategies that support their behaviour and engagement.
Responsibilities As a Behaviour Support:
- Provide targeted support to pupils who require additional behavioural guidance.
- Help students identify emotions, triggers and appropriate responses.
- Encourage positive behaviour and respectful interactions.
- Support pupils in maintaining routines and re-engaging with learning.
- Develop constructive relationships with students and act as a consistent source of support.
- Liaise with teaching and pastoral staff regarding individual needs.
- Record relevant observations and contribute to appropriate support strategies.
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs is expected from candidates interested to work as a Behaviour Support.
- Previous work in education, youth support, pastoral care or a similar setting is beneficial.
- Calm, patient and solution-focused approach is desirable for the role as a Behaviour Support.
- Confidence dealing with challenging or unpredictable situations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to establish appropriate professional boundaries.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
