Salary: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Long-Term/ Day-to-day, Full-Time / Part-Time
Could you confidently lead a classroom and keep students focused when their usual teacher is away?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking a dependable Cover Supervisor (CS) to work with a school in Worksop. This role is suited to someone who can maintain classroom routines, support students with their work and ensure learning continues in a calm and purposeful environment.
Your responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:

Supervise classes and follow the work provided by teaching staff.

Explain lesson instructions clearly and ensure students remain on task.

Maintain appropriate classroom expectations and routines.

Respond calmly to low-level disruption and behaviour concerns.

Encourage students to complete their learning activities independently.

Provide basic support and clarification where students require assistance.

Report relevant behaviour, attendance or lesson concerns to school staff.
Requirements for the Cover Supervisor (CS) role:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Experience in education, tutoring, youth work or a similar setting would be beneficial as aCover Supervisor.

Confident and consistent approach to classroom management.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to remain professional when dealing with challenging situations.

Reliable, organised and able to work independently.

Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.

Proper knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
