GSL Education Hull Branch are currently recruiting for a passionate, enthusiastic, and committed Teacher of Maths to work within a successful secondary school in York. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Maths teacher who is eager to deliver engaging lessons and make a positive impact on students’ academic progress.

About the Role

As a Teacher of Maths, you will deliver high-quality lessons across the secondary Maths curriculum, encouraging students to develop strong mathematical understanding and confidence. You will create a positive and purposeful learning environment, adapt teaching to meet different abilities, and support students in achieving their academic potential.

Core Responsibilities of the Teacher of Maths:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Maths lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
  • Develop students’ mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and application of knowledge.
  • Differentiate lessons effectively to support students with a range of abilities and learning needs.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to students’ academic progress and wider development.

As the Ideal Teacher of Maths, You Should Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching Maths across the secondary age range.
  • Previous experience teaching Maths within a UK secondary school setting.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches and differentiate effectively for varied learning needs.
  • A passionate, reflective, and student-focused approach to teaching and learning.

To Work with GSL Education, You Must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Provide an up-to-date CV and references covering the last 2 years.
  • Have recent experience working with children or young people.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
