Job Title: Early Years Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are working with schools throughout Sheffield to appoint enthusiastic Early Years Teacher (EYT). We welcome qualified educators who can combine structured teaching with purposeful play, recognise individual developmental needs, and create an environment where young children feel encouraged to participate and discover.

The Early Years Teacher will have the opportunity to deliver learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), establishing strong foundations in communication, literacy, numeracy, social development, and independent learning.

Early Years Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging learning experiences aligned with the EYFS framework
  • Introduce early literacy and numeracy concepts through practical, age-appropriate activities
  • Incorporate purposeful play, exploration, and creativity into daily learning
  • Assess children’s development and identify suitable next steps for individual progress
  • Encourage communication, independence, cooperation, and positive social interaction
  • Coordinate with Early Years practitioners and support staff to meet individual needs

Early Years Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS), or a recognised equivalent qualification
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Experience teaching within an Early Years or primary environment
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and appropriate assessment methods
  • Ability to balance structured learning with child-led and play-based activities
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
