Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting confident and approachable Behaviour Support for reputed schools across Sheffield. This opportunity would suit individuals who can build rapport with pupils while maintaining clear boundaries, respond constructively to challenging behaviour, and help learners develop more effective ways of managing their emotions and actions.
The Behaviour Support role focuses on removing behavioural barriers to education by providing targeted intervention, reinforcing positive expectations, and helping pupils participate successfully in classroom and wider school activities.
Behaviour Support Responsibilities:
- Establish constructive relationships with pupils who require additional behavioural guidance
- Identify situations or triggers that may contribute to disruptive or disengaged behaviour
- Apply positive intervention techniques to encourage appropriate responses
- Redirect pupils towards productive learning following challenging incidents
- Monitor behavioural changes and communicate relevant developments to school staff
- Collaborate with pastoral teams to implement individual behaviour strategies consistently
Behaviour Support Requirements:
- Experience supporting young people within schools, youth services, mentoring, or similar environments is desirable
- Knowledge of positive behaviour approaches and appropriate de-escalation methods
- Capacity to respond calmly and professionally when faced with challenging behaviour
- Confidence maintaining clear expectations without compromising positive relationships
- Resilient, observant, and adaptable approach to working with different pupils
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
