Job Title: Geography Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking knowledgeable and engaging Geography Teachers to join excellent schools in Barnsley. This opportunity is suited to qualified educators who can make geographical topics relevant, encourage curiosity about global issues, and develop students’ analytical and investigative skills.
The Geography Teacher will deliver engaging lessons across physical and human geography, helping students understand geographical processes, interpret evidence, and explore important environmental and social issues.
Geography Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan stimulating lessons covering physical, human, and environmental geography
- Incorporate maps, data, case studies, and digital resources into classroom learning
- Introduce students to local and global geographical issues
- Challenge learners to interpret evidence and develop informed conclusions
- Evaluate attainment through coursework, tests, and other assessment methods
- Prepare examination groups through focused revision and targeted guidance
Geography Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Strong understanding of the secondary Geography curriculum
- Previous experience teaching Geography at secondary level or similar setting
- Ability to make complex geographical concepts accessible and relevant
- Effective planning, assessment, communication, and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
