Job title: Design and Technology Teacher

Location: Doncaster

Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Long-Term/ Day-to-day, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking a creative and dedicated Design and Technology (D&T) Teacher to work with a school in Doncaster. This role offers the opportunity to develop students' practical abilities, encourage creative thinking and deliver purposeful lessons.

Your role as a Design and Technology Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver practical and engaging D&T lessons.
  • Teach students to apply design concepts through hands-on activities.
  • Develop pupils' problem-solving, creativity and technical skills.
  • Prepare appropriate materials, equipment and learning resources.
  • Assess students' work and provide clear developmental feedback.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom organisation and safety.
  • Support students in developing confidence with practical projects.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential for the Design and Technology Teacher role.
  • Strong knowledge of Design and Technology and relevant practical skills as a DT Teacher will be an advantage. 
  • Previous experience teaching D&T within a school setting is desirable.
  • Confident classroom, behaviour and practical-work management.
  • Ability to engage students through creative teaching approaches.
  • Strong planning, communication and organisational skills.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
