GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant (TA) to work with a school in Doncaster. This role provides an opportunity to work alongside teachers, offer targeted classroom support and help students develop their confidence, independence and engagement with learning.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support individuals and small groups during classroom activities.
- Assist students with learning tasks, instructions and resources.
- Help students remain focused and actively involved in lessons.
- Encourage positive behaviour and respectful classroom routines.
- Provide additional support to pupils who require help with their learning.
- Work closely with teachers to meet individual student needs.
- Contribute to an inclusive, safe and supportive learning environment.
Requirements for the Teaching Assistant (TA) role:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Experience in a school, childcare, tutoring or similar setting as a TA or similar role is appreciated.
- A patient, approachable and supportive manner.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
