Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable PE Teacher to work with a school in Barnsley. This is an opportunity to deliver engaging Physical Education (PE) lessons, encourage participation and help students develop both practical sporting abilities and positive attitudes towards an active lifestyle.
Your responsibilities as a PE Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons suited to different abilities.
- Teach a range of practical activities in line with the curriculum.
- Encourage students to participate confidently in physical activities.
- Promote teamwork, discipline and respect through sport.
- Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and safety during lessons.
- Work with colleagues to support students' wider development.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential for the PE Teacher role.
- Strong subject knowledge across relevant areas of Physical Education.
- Previous experience teaching PE in a school environment is desirable.
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to motivate students and encourage active participation is a must quality for a Physical Education Teacher.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection is must for a PE Teacher.
