Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Market Weighton, East Riding of Yorkshire
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Salary: £92 - £115 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently recruiting for a resilient, patient, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive educational setting in Market Weighton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with young people and is confident supporting pupils who may require additional academic, emotional, or behavioural support.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils both in and outside the classroom. You will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to help pupils engage with learning, manage challenges, develop confidence, and make positive progress. The role would suit someone with a strong interest in supporting young people who may present with behavioural or emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils access learning and remain engaged.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and encourage confidence, resilience, and independence.
- Support pupils who may experience emotional, social, or behavioural difficulties that affect their learning.
- Promote positive behaviour through calm, consistent, and supportive approaches.
- Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive environment where pupils feel supported and able to learn.
- Work closely with teachers and wider staff to monitor pupil progress and adapt support to individual needs.
As the Ideal Teaching Assistant, You Should Have:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care, youth, or similar setting.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach when working with challenging behaviour or complex situations.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence in maintaining appropriate boundaries while building positive relationships with pupils.
- Ability to remain consistent and composed when supporting pupils experiencing emotional or behavioural challenges.
- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.
To Work with GSL Education, You Must:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Provide an up-to-date CV and references covering the last 2 years.
- Have recent experience working with children or young people.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
