Salary: £34,068 to £52,834 per annum (MPS/UPS)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently recruiting for a passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Secondary Teacher to work within schools across York. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ambitious educator looking to contribute to a positive and engaging secondary school environment.
About the Role
As a Secondary Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that encourage students to participate, develop their knowledge, and achieve their academic potential. You will create a supportive classroom environment, adapt your teaching to meet different abilities, and promote positive behaviour and a strong learning culture.
Core Responsibilities of the Secondary Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements and learning objectives.
- Differentiate teaching and learning activities to support students with varying abilities and needs.
- Maintain positive classroom behaviour and create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Encourage students to develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and wider school staff to support students’ academic and personal development.
As the Ideal Secondary Teacher, You Should Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Previous experience teaching within a UK secondary school environment.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging, well-structured lessons.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs.
- A committed, enthusiastic, and student-focused approach to education.
To Work with GSL Education, You Must:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Provide an up-to-date CV and references covering the last 2 years.
- Have recent experience working with children or young people.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
