Job Title: Behaviour Support (Primary)
Location: Sheffield S5
Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: Immediate start
Are you patient, supportive and confident helping primary-aged children manage challenges in the classroom? A welcoming primary school in Sheffield S5 is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support professional to help pupils engage positively with their learning.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support professional, you will work alongside class teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils who may need additional help with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement. You could provide one-to-one or small-group support, help children settle into lessons and encourage positive choices throughout the school day.
You will play an important role in helping pupils feel secure, develop confidence and make progress in their learning.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small-group behaviour support.

Help pupils manage emotions and respond appropriately to classroom expectations.

Work alongside class teachers to support learning and positive engagement.

Encourage age-appropriate behaviour and respectful interactions.

Support children during lessons, transitions and wider school activities.

Build positive relationships with pupils while maintaining clear boundaries.

Share relevant observations and concerns with teachers and pastoral staff.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable.
-
Experience supporting behaviour or SEMH needs is advantageous.

A calm, patient and consistent approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to adapt your approach to suit individual children.

Confidence working closely with class teachers and other school staff.

A genuine commitment to supporting children's wellbeing and education.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
