Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Pay: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are working with schools across Sheffield to recruit a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor. The successful candidate will oversee classroom activities, keep students engaged with their assigned work, and maintain a focused learning environment when the regular teacher is absent.
The Cover Supervisor (CS) role provides a valuable route into education while allowing you to gain experience leading classrooms, supporting student engagement, and developing behaviour management skills.
Responsibilities of CS:
- Supervise lessons using pre-prepared materials provided by teaching staff
- Ensure students remain focused and complete assigned work during lessons
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations
- Provide guidance and clarification where appropriate to support learning
- Record attendance, monitor participation, and report any concerns
- Maintain a positive and organised classroom environment throughout the day
Requirements for CS:
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Confidence managing groups of students in a classroom setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, organised, and professional under pressure
- Flexible and proactive approach to supporting schools
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
