Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you confident leading a classroom and keen to support pupils in their learning? A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is looking for a reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring pupils remain focused and engaged with the work provided. You will manage classroom behaviour, support students with their learning and help maintain a positive environment throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes and deliver work set by teaching staff.

Maintain good classroom behaviour and ensure pupils remain on task.

Support students with their learning where appropriate.

Follow school policies and procedures consistently.

Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding lessons and student engagement.

Promote a calm, safe and respectful classroom environment.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Confident and organised approach to supervising groups of pupils.

Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

A genuine interest in supporting pupils' education and development.

Experience in a school or education setting is advantageous.
To work with GSL Education as a Cover Supervisor, you should:

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
We also offer, via our partner, access to accredited Education-relevant CPD courses.
