Salary: £130–£220 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Long-Term/ Day-to-day, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to work with a school in Wakefield (WF1). This is an opportunity to deliver engaging Science lessons, develop pupils' understanding of scientific concepts and encourage them to explore the subject with confidence.
As a Science Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons that meet curriculum expectations.
- Make complex scientific ideas accessible to students with varied abilities.
- Use practical activities and relevant resources to enhance learning.
- Assess pupils' understanding and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe, well-managed and purposeful classroom.
- Encourage curiosity, critical thinking and independent learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support pupils' progress.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential for the Science Teacher role.
- Strong subject knowledge across relevant areas of Science.
- Previous experience as a Science Teacher in a school environment is encouraged.
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
