Salary Scale: £92 – £115 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently searching for a Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive secondary school setting in North Yorkshire. This is a rewarding opportunity for an adaptable individual who can work alongside teaching staff, provide targeted support to pupils and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Teaching Assistant Role:
The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils across the school. You will help learners engage with lessons, develop their confidence and independence, and overcome any barriers that may affect their academic or personal progress.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils across a range of subjects and learning activities.
- Assist teachers with classroom tasks, resources and the delivery of engaging learning activities.
- Encourage pupils to participate positively in lessons and develop greater independence.
- Provide appropriate support with pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Monitor pupil engagement and progress, sharing relevant observations with teaching staff.
- Contribute to a calm, inclusive and respectful classroom environment where pupils feel supported.
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a school, college, youth or support setting is desirable.
- A patient, approachable and encouraging manner when working with pupils.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
- Confidence working with pupils who may experience learning, behavioural or emotional barriers.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff while following individual support strategies.
- An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years, with any employment gaps explained
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
