Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential? A welcoming school in Barnsley is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join its team.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teaching staff to support pupils with their learning and day-to-day needs. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, help pupils stay engaged in lessons and contribute to a positive, well-structured classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.

Assist pupils with classroom tasks and learning activities.

Work alongside teachers to support lesson delivery and pupil engagement.

Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.

Support pupils who may need additional help with their learning or behaviour.

Share relevant observations and feedback with teaching staff.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, supportive and adaptable approach.

Ability to work effectively alongside teachers and other staff.

A genuine commitment to helping pupils succeed.
-
Experience in a school or education setting is advantageous.
To work with GSL Education as a Learning Support Assistant, you should:

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
We also offer, via our partner, access to accredited Education-relevant CPD courses.
