Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you confident managing a classroom and keeping pupils focused when their usual teacher is unavailable? A welcoming secondary school in Doncaster is looking for a reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring pupils understand and complete work set by their regular teachers. You will maintain clear expectations, manage behaviour effectively and provide support to pupils throughout each lesson.
You will have the opportunity to work across different subjects and year groups, making this a varied role for someone who enjoys working in a secondary school environment.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the absence of the regular teacher.

Deliver pre-set work and ensure pupils remain engaged with their tasks.

Maintain positive behaviour and clear classroom expectations.

Provide appropriate support to pupils during lessons.

Manage classroom routines and lesson transitions effectively.

Report any concerns or relevant incidents to teaching staff.

Ensure a safe and productive learning environment is maintained.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Confident classroom management and communication skills.

A calm, organised and professional approach.

Ability to work across different subjects and year groups.

Confidence working independently while following lesson plans.

Experience within a school or education setting is advantageous.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
