Job Title: Behaviour Support (Primary)
Location: Sheffield S5
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: Immediate start
Are you passionate about supporting primary-aged children and helping them manage behaviour positively in the classroom? A welcoming primary school in Sheffield is looking for a patient and dedicated Behaviour Support professional to join its team.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support (Primary), you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils who may need additional help with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping children manage their emotions, follow routines and remain focused on learning.
You will also support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 where required, adapting your approach to suit different ages and individual needs. Your calm and consistent presence will help children feel secure and better able to take part in their learning.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small-group behaviour support.

Work alongside class teachers to support pupils during lessons and activities.

Help children develop emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.

Support pupils with classroom routines, transitions and social development.

Encourage positive participation in learning and age-appropriate activities.

Promote a calm, safe and structured classroom environment.

Share relevant observations and feedback with teaching staff.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children in a primary school, education, care or support setting is desirable.

A calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour support.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to adapt your approach to different ages and individual needs.

Resilience when supporting children with challenging behaviour.

A genuine commitment to helping children succeed.
To work with GSL Education as a Behaviour Support (Primary), you should:

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
