£85.44 – £100 per day

We are looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Bournemouth, supporting pupils with Autism and a range of additional needs.
The school provides a calm, nurturing and supportive learning environment, with small class sizes and high staff-to-student ratios. This allows pupils to receive personalised attention and support that is tailored to their individual needs, helping them feel safe, confident and ready to learn.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider school team to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs
- Helping students access a personalised curriculum
- Supporting communication, social development and emotional regulation
- Encouraging independence and positive engagement with learning
- Supporting pupils with sensory needs in a calm and structured environment
- Helping students develop confidence, independence and life skills
- Assisting with classroom activities, practical learning and enrichment
- Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe and supportive environment
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to meet individual needs

Previous experience working within an SEN, Autism or specialist education setting is desirable, but not essential. We are also keen to hear from candidates with transferable experience and the right attitude, who are passionate about making a difference.
