Job title: Nursery Practitioner

Location: Middlesbrough

Salary: £95–£115 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Long-Term/ Day-to-day, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education Newcastle Branch are currently seeking a caring and committed Nursery Practitioner to work with a nursery setting in Middlesbrough. This is an opportunity to support children's early development through engaging activities, positive interactions and a safe, nurturing environment.

Your role as a Nursery Practitioner:

  • Support children through play-based learning and daily activities.
  • Assist with activities that encourage children's learning and development.
  • Support communication, social and emotional development.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children.
  • Assist with daily routines and transitions.
  • Observe children's development and communicate relevant information.
  • Contribute to a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment.

Requirements for the Nursery Practitioner role:

  • Previous experience working with children in a nursery or Early Years setting is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) would be beneficial.
  • Experience as a Nursery Practitioner or similar childcare role is desirable.
  • A caring, patient and attentive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to engage positively with young children.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
