Salary: £100–£130 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education Newcastle Branch are currently looking for a dependable Cover Supervisor to work with a school in Hartlepool. This is an opportunity to provide effective classroom supervision, maintain positive behaviour and ensure students continue with their learning when their regular teacher is unavailable.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise classes across different subjects.
- Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by teaching staff.
- Help students understand the work and complete assigned activities.
- Maintain positive classroom routines and expectations.
- Manage behaviour calmly and consistently.
- Encourage students to remain engaged with their learning.
- Communicate relevant classroom information to teaching staff.
Requirements for the Cover Supervisor role:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people as a Cover Supervisor (CS) is desirable.
- Experience in education, tutoring, youth work or a similar setting would be beneficial.
- Confident group and behaviour management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in different classroom situations.
- You need to be Reliable, organised and punctual for the Cover Supervisor role.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
