Salary Scale: £92 – £115 per day (Depending on experience)
Are you a Psychology Graduate looking to gain valuable experience supporting children and young people while developing your career in education?
GSL Education Hull Branch are currently looking for a motivated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate to work within schools in York. This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology graduate who is interested in gaining practical experience in education, mental health, behaviour, SEND, or pastoral support.
About the Role
As a Psychology Graduate, you will provide tailored support to pupils who may face a range of learning, emotional, behavioural, or social challenges. You will work alongside teachers and support staff to help pupils build confidence, develop positive relationships, and engage more effectively with their education.
Core Responsibilities of the Psychology Graduate:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of individual needs.
- Help pupils develop confidence, emotional awareness, resilience, and positive social skills.
- Support classroom learning and encourage pupils to engage positively with educational activities.
- Promote positive behaviour and use calm, supportive approaches when managing challenging situations.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff to support pupils' educational and personal development.
As the Ideal Psychology Graduate, You Should Have:
- A degree in Psychology or a closely related subject.
- A genuine interest in supporting children and young people within an educational setting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils.
- The ability to remain calm and professional when managing challenging behaviour or situations.
- A willingness to learn and develop practical experience within education, SEND, pastoral care, or behavioural support.
To Work with GSL Education, You Must:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Provide an up-to-date CV and references covering the last 2 years.
- Have recent experience working with children or young people, where applicable.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
