Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking dedicated and understanding SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to work with vibrant schools in Doncaster. We welcome individuals who can recognise different learning barriers, respond thoughtfully to individual needs, and work alongside teaching staff to create an inclusive and supportive experience for every pupil.
The SEN Teaching Assistant provides tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them participate in lessons, develop essential skills, and become increasingly confident and independent.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualised support based on pupils’ specific learning requirements
- Modify classroom resources and activities to improve accessibility
- Facilitate focused interventions with individuals and small groups
- Encourage pupils to develop communication, independence, and social skills
- Observe learning and behavioural progress and provide useful feedback to staff
- Contribute to individual support plans alongside teachers and SEN professionals
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and inclusive education
- Practical experience with children who have additional learning needs is desirable
- Confidence adapting support to suit different abilities and circumstances
- Capacity to communicate effectively and establish positive relationships with pupils
- Patient, attentive, and collaborative approach to classroom support
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
