Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are working with welcoming schools throughout Rotherham to find patient and attentive SEN Teaching Assistant (TA). We are interested to hear from individuals who can recognise each learner’s individual strengths and needs, adapt their support accordingly, and contribute to an inclusive environment where every learner has the opportunity to progress.
The SEN Teaching Assistant provides personalised academic and developmental support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access classroom learning and develop greater independence.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Adapt classroom activities and resources to suit individual learning requirements
- Guide pupils through tasks that require additional explanation or assistance
- Facilitate focused one-to-one and small-group learning sessions
- Develop learners’ communication, social interaction, and independence skills
- Record relevant observations to help teachers monitor individual progress
- Coordinate with teaching and SEN staff to follow agreed support strategies
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and how they may affect learning
- Previous experience supporting children with additional needs
- Ability to adjust your approach according to individual pupils and circumstances
- Strong interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with young people
- A calm, observant, and dependable approach to pupil support
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
