Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Worksop
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Are you confident taking charge of a classroom and ensuring students stay focused and productive in their teacher’s absence?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are supporting schools throughout Worksop in finding confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor (CS). We are looking for individuals who can establish a positive classroom presence, communicate instructions clearly, and maintain continuity of learning across different subjects and year groups.
The Cover Supervisor oversees lessons when regular teaching staff are unavailable, ensuring pupils complete prepared work while maintaining appropriate standards of behaviour and engagement.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Oversee lessons using work and resources prepared by teaching staff
- Communicate instructions clearly and ensure students understand assigned activities
- Maintain an orderly classroom environment throughout the lesson
- Respond appropriately to minor behavioural issues in line with school procedures
- Encourage learners to remain productive and complete the work provided
- Report lesson outcomes, concerns, and relevant observations to teaching staff
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Confidence supervising groups of young people within a classroom environment
- Previous experience in education, youth work, coaching, or a similar setting
- Ability to establish clear expectations and manage behaviour appropriately
- Good communication skills with a calm and professional manner
- Flexibility to work across different subjects, classes, and age groups
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
