GSL Education London Branch are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Science Technician to join one of our partnership schools in Tower Hamlets. This long-term opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a practical environment and wants to support teachers and students with science lessons and experiments.

As a Science Technician, you will help ensure science laboratories are well prepared, safe, and ready for lessons. You will work closely with teaching staff and play an important role in supporting practical learning across the science department.

Key Responsibilities of the Science Technician:

  • Prepare equipment, materials, and resources for practical science lessons.
  • Set up and clear away equipment before and after experiments.
  • Ensure laboratories are clean, organised, and ready for use.
  • Support teachers during practical lessons where required.
  • Maintain and safely store laboratory equipment and resources.
  • Follow health and safety procedures when handling equipment and materials.
  • Report any damaged or faulty equipment to the relevant staff.

Requirements for the Science Technician role:

  • Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a similar practical role is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of laboratory equipment and safe working practices.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A careful, reliable, and practical approach to work.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
