Job Title: Science Teacher

Location: Lewisham
Salary: £200 – £275 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP

GSL Education London Branch are currently looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a supportive school in Lewisham on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about science and enjoys helping students develop their knowledge, confidence and interest in the subject.

The Role:

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across the relevant key stages. You will create a positive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to participate, ask questions and develop their scientific understanding.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering effective Science lessons.
  • Adapting teaching approaches to meet different learning needs.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing constructive feedback.
  • Managing classroom behaviour in a calm and consistent manner.
  • Encouraging students to take an active interest in Science.
  • Working closely with colleagues to support student development.
  • Maintaining a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.

The successful Science Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of the Science curriculum.
  • Recent experience teaching Science in a UK school setting.
  • Good classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to engage students with different abilities and learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A positive, patient and professional approach.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
