Job Title: Math Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are working with excellent schools in Barnsley to appoint confident and knowledgeable Mathematics Teacher. We are interested in educators who can build students’ numerical fluency, encourage logical thinking, and adapt their approach to ensure learners with different abilities can make meaningful progress.
The Maths Teacher supports students in developing a secure understanding of Mathematics while encouraging them to reason independently, tackle unfamiliar problems, and prepare confidently for assessments.
Math Teacher Responsibilities:
- Design structured lessons covering key areas of the Mathematics curriculum
- Explain numerical and mathematical concepts using accessible methods and examples
- Encourage students to apply reasoning when approaching unfamiliar problems
- Differentiate activities to challenge and support learners at appropriate levels
- Measure academic progress through regular assessment and constructive feedback
- Guide examination classes through focused preparation and revision activities
Math Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Comprehensive understanding of the secondary Mathematics curriculum
- Previous Mathematics teaching experience within a secondary setting
- Confidence adapting instruction for students with varied abilities
- Excellent numerical knowledge combined with effective classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
