Job Title: Geography Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are supporting welcoming schools throughout Barnsley in finding knowledgeable and enthusiastic Geography Teacher. We are keen to hear from educators who can bring geographical topics to life, encourage curiosity about global issues, and help students develop strong analytical and investigative skills.
The Geography Teacher delivers engaging learning across physical and human geography, helping students interpret geographical information and develop a deeper understanding of contemporary environmental and social issues.
Geography Teacher Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging Geography lessons across relevant key stages
- Explore physical, human, and environmental topics through varied learning activities
- Incorporate maps, geographical data, case studies, and digital resources into lessons
- Challenge students to analyse evidence and form well-supported conclusions
- Evaluate progress through assignments, assessments, and classroom participation
- Prepare learners for examinations with targeted revision and academic guidance
Geography Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Sound knowledge of the secondary Geography curriculum
- Experience teaching Geography across relevant key stages
- Ability to make complex geographical concepts accessible to different learners
- Effective lesson planning, assessment, and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
